How to donate twice and recycle once with a can of soup

So, in this blog post I am going to show you how to eliminate the waste from a can of soup by donating 2 parts of it to a cause, and recycling it once.

When you go to the grocery store and shop for can foods make sure to look for labels that include a Labels 4 Education point label. And, a pull tab opening device at the top.

*After you make your soup rinse out your can

**Take the lid (please be careful with this part) and bend the tab at the top back and forth until it snaps off. I put mine in a jar and save them till I get enough to donate. I donate mine to the Local Ronald McDonald House.

Please follow this link to find out more about the program: http://rmhc.org/how-you-can-help/other-ways-to-get-involved/pop-tab-collections/

You can also donate your tabs to Pull tabs for Charity.

***Next, peel the label off of the can. Make sure not to rip your Labels 4 Education point label. Cut the Labels 4 Education label from your soup label. Again, I put mine in jar until I get enough to donate. For the Labels 4 Education labels you can usually send them to your local school with your child.

If you do not have a child attending school you can follow the link and find out more about this program: http://www.boxtops4education.com/

****Finally, throw the rest in the recycle bin. Viola, No Waste what so ever. And, you helped 2 causes. I love it! <3 :)
